Farmer Spotlight: Hopcott Farms

What started out as a chunk of land covered with trees was first transformed into a farm in 1932 by Fred and Jane Hopcott. But dairy farming wasn’t Fred’s dream, so in 1957 the farm was transformed again to raise beef cattle and grow corn silage for the cattle. Since then, Hopcott Farms has diversified into producing cranberries and creating an agri-tourism destination called Meadows Maze.

Hopcott Farms is a strong advocate of eating local, knowing your farmers and supporting other local farmers…. so in 2006 they opened the doors to their 9,000 square foot shop showcasing their meats, local meats, produce and dairy.

“Meat” the Hopcott Farms family in the video below and find out why they are truly a farm-to-fork operation.

Fun fact: Hopcott’s Family Fun Farm boats a corn maze, petting zoo, 40 foot slide and corn cannons!

Where in the world are they? Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada

What in the world do they grow? Naturally raised beef, berries and vegetables.
