Farmer Spotlight: Smith Family Farm
For over 30 years Smith Family Farm has been nourishing their community with a wide variety of heirloom tomatoes, stone fruit and both hot and sweet peppers. It’s definitely a family affair with siblings and founders Janice, Ken, Bill and Shirley still running the farm and their parents, children and cousins helping to entertain guests during farm tours and helping to sell their famous selection of heirloom tomatoes at local farmers’ markets.
No matter what the season, Smith Family Farm always welcomes families to experience their unique take on growing fruits and vegetables while having some old-fashioned fun. Guests can tour their herb and flower gardens in Summer, explore a corn maze during their pumpkin festival in Fall and even choose the perfect Christmas tree in Winter while cozying up around a warm fire with hot cocoa.
Fun fact: The current owners are descendants of Spanish tomato farmers and Ohioan corn growers!
